README file for wearth, version 1.0
Erwin Yu <eyu@mailhost.net>
5 July 1996
WHAT IS IT?
If you have used some X-Window system, you may know a X-application
called xearth, written by Kirk Lauritz Johnson, it can be get
from ftp.x.org. I ported this program to 32-bit Windows platform
( Win95 or WinNT ) last year for my WinNT workstation,
I decided to let more users enjoy it now.
Wearth sets the wallpaper of Windows 95 or Windows NT to
an image of the Earth, as seen from your favorite vantage
point in space, correctly shaded for the current position
of the Sun, updated each 5 minutes by default.
INSTALL
Just put the file wearth32.exe to wherever on your disk and create
an item in your Windows Startup group for it, you may need to set
some command line options, for example:
wearth32.exe -size "800 600" -wait 300
see wearth.txt for more info.
NOTES
Wearth is a 32-bit Windows apllication, so it will not run
on Windows 3.x unless you have win32s installed.
Set you time zone correctly! Or the earth displayed will not
be shaded correctly for the current position of the sun.
